i've often wondered, where

i've often wondered, where
on a line one should find
the mark marked
"beyond this spot
one's no longer one".
it's commonly said
"you hail from a foreign land"
and when in turn, "and you,
you are of this place, i presume,
is this your ancestral home?";
bland stares, brow laden
accusations are flown.
then, the foreigners in them
sit cross-legged in neo-native form.

i've often wondered, where
